Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
I'm Sam Price and I run Hazel & Fred. When you ask me a question, download my guide or work with me, you trust me with information about yourself and often about your family. This page explains what I collect, why I collect it, who else sees it and how you can ask me about it.
Hazel & Fred is the trading name of Templeton Property Pty Ltd as trustee for the Thomas Nash Trust (ABN 80 182 968 956), which is responsible for your personal information. I handle it in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What I collect
I only ask for what I need to help you. Depending on how we're in touch, that can include:
- your name, email address, phone number and postal address
- what you tell me in a message, a phone call or a meeting, such as where you live now, the kind of home or community you're considering, your timing and your budget
- details of family members or others you ask me to include, such as an adult child who is helping with the move
- information about your current home if I'm helping you sell it
- identity details, where the law requires me to verify who you are before acting for you in a property purchase or sale
- how you found me, if you choose to tell me
Sometimes you might tell me about your health or mobility because it affects which homes will suit you, such as needing level access or a step-free bathroom. I only record this with your agreement and only use it to help find the right home. I don't assess care needs.
How I collect it
Mostly directly from you: through the contact form on this website, when you sign up for the free guide or my newsletter, when you book a call, by email, by phone and in person. If a family member, financial planner or solicitor introduces you to me, they may pass on your name and contact details with your permission.
Why I use it
I use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a call or meeting
- provide the services you engage me for, including arranging and attending inspections with you
- send you the free guide and, if you've subscribed, my newsletter
- prepare agreements, invoices and records
- meet my legal obligations, including licensing, record keeping and identity verification
- understand how people use this website so I can improve it
I don't sell your information and I don't share it with retirement village or land lease operators for marketing. I'm paid only by you.
Who else sees it
I share your information only where it's needed to help you or where the law requires it. That includes:
- a village operator, agent or vendor when you've asked me to arrange an inspection or act for you
- your solicitor, financial planner or a family member you've nominated, with your agreement
- government agencies or regulators where the law requires it
- the software services I use to run the business, such as my website host, email, calendar booking, email newsletter, accounting and client record systems
Some of these software providers store data overseas, mainly in the United States and Europe. I choose established providers with security practices I'm comfortable with and I only share what each one needs to do its job.
Emails and newsletters
If you sign up for the guide or my newsletter, I'll send you occasional emails about retirement living and downsizing in South East Queensland. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom and you can also ask me directly to take you off the list.
Cookies and website analytics
Like most websites, this one uses cookies. My website platform (Squarespace) uses them to make the site work. I also use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they found the site. The Meta Pixel measures visits from Facebook and Instagram and is sometimes used to show Hazel & Fred posts or ads to people who have visited. This information doesn't tell me who you are.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.
Keeping it safe
I keep your information in password-protected systems with two-step sign-in where it's offered and I don't keep paper files lying around. I keep records for as long as I need them to help you and to meet my legal and tax obligations. After that I delete or destroy them.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, I'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the information I hold about you or ask me to correct it at any time. Email me and I'll reply within 30 days. There's no charge. If there's a legal reason I can't give you something, I'll explain why.
Questions or concerns
If you have a question about privacy or you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please talk to me first. I'll look into it and reply within 30 days.

I'll update this page if the way I handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
